In this series, the images on the left are traced using a simple camera obscura onto mylar. These drawings constitute hand drawn negatives that I print as a cyanotypes (right images).

This large scale, paneled cyanotype records the sunlight falling in panels on my porch in May. The exposure time is the time it took me to lay out the sixteen pieces of light sensitive paper and then gather and process them, about two minutes.

This series was developed over many days in July when I painted en plein air at Lake George, in the Adirondack Mountains. The studies represent the quickly changing weather patterns over the water. Once I was caught in a sudden rainstorm, which left its spattered imprint on my paintings.
